Participate in The Art of the Profile • Report on Our Community’s Creatives

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: FRIDAY, OCT. 13, 2023, 11 p.m.

WHAT: Join Arts Angle Vantage for a collaborative workshop and write a profile on a creative person of your choosing for publication. Learn techniques for creative profile writing, interviewing the profile subject and other important people who can provide more insight into their lives, thinking and work. Find out more at our virtual Open House at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 9.

BACKGROUND: A free hands-on experience in creative expression for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors to learn and practice writing and reporting with the guidance of professional arts journalists/educators.

In many cases, the reporting process for these profiles will require experiencing the art form of the profile subject. Arts Angle Vantage will assist participants in obtaining tickets and passes to events. In almost all cases, these costs will be covered.

However, mentors must approve story pitches before participants attend such events.

Past Arts Bureau Edge workshop participants have profiled performance and visual artists and covered productions presented by Actors Theatre of Louisville, Dance Theatre of Harlem at The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts and Broadway in Louisville musicals.
